Well put Tito, our in-house movie buff & award winning filmmaker. However, I think your analysis may be flawed. I sought out a second opinion, and I think I'm gonna go with Mr. Sexman and his creepy YouTubination on the Oscar picks. He, like "Richard Ebert" would give Ben Button two thumbs up!
In case you were wondering about his school life...
I recommend watching as many other videos of this kid as you can tolerate. It's a lock this kid goes postal.

The Lame Case of Benjamin Boring

I'm taking this time to rant about the recent announcement of the Oscar nominations. The leader this year was the Curious Case of Benjamin Button with 13 nominations...including an unacceptable nomination for Brad Pitt as best actor.
I had high hopes for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, being a huge fan of director, David Fincher, and his star, Brad Pitt. I had hoped that Pitt returned to his early habit of taking interesting and complex characters. There was a time when he played: an illiterate serial killer (Kalifornia), a schizophrenic revolutionary (12 monkeys), a mush mouthed gypsy (SNATCH), and a figment of a disgruntled yuppie's imagination (FIGHT CLUB). We used to receive consistently interesting performances from Pitt, but now we see only glimpses of his ability... like in BABEL, Burn after Reading, and The Assassination of Jesse James. All too commonly do we see Pitt take roles as the good looking spy, the good looking con artist, or the good looking, effieminate leader of the trojan army.
So I'm just wondering - how could the director of The Game, seven, Fight Club, and ZODIAC give me the most boring film I've seen in a really long time? I get that they had great make-up artists to transform this former "Sexiest Man Alive," into a an old baby born in the early part of the 20th Century. However, at every opportunity for drama, Ben Button simply states, "I'm sad" and moves on. At dramatic points Button uses "the naive old baby card" and doesn't emote. A child would be more emotional, right?
Okay, I just wrote this because I am very disappointed about THE DARK KNIGHT's lack of nomination for Best Picture. And now I sound like the kind of whiny comic book geek that I've seen blogging on film sites for the last year about THE DARK KNIGHT being "The Godfather of comic book movies." I just have to say that regardless of my childish affection for the caped crusader, Christopher Nolan's realization of the comic all of us seem to know (whether we acknowledge it or not), was one of the most impressive examples of a sum being greater than its parts. Certainly he should have received a nomination for that. (Although a best supporting actor mention has been given to the well deserving Heath Ledger, who managed to let his unforgettable Joker exist as simply an agent of chaos in a corrupt Gotham City.)
THE DARK KNIGHT was a best picture contender that just happened to feature Batman and The Joker. And Benjamin Button was a 3-hour display of special fx and melodrama, that left me with only one question: How do you turn a short story into a 3-hour movie?

Welcome to 2009
I thought I would help start the reviving of the site with a great little disco mix for everyone. If you don't already go to Beat Electric, than you are a fool. One of the best sources for great Disco & Boogie music around, and it always has good info about the songs put up.
This mix is something they put together for Ugly Talented. Enjoy the mix dudes & dudettes, cause this is about to be the year of disco, and I ain't talking about the wack shit.
